Border Mag began in 2012 with a simple purpose: by and for Hip Hop fans. We are a team of music lovers who are always on the go and like to stay up-to-date on new proposals and trends that are undoubtedly a great help on the path of social construction and reconstruction. We like to preserve, document, and encourage the local rap scene, which is why in 2019 we started our series The Breaks, with episodic interviews with MCs and DJs. In 2021, we organized a contest, a beatmaking battle where emerging talents from both Mexico and abroad were showcased. That same year, due to the pandemic, we conducted a series of video interviews, becoming the first Mexican media outlet to approach DJ Uve and Phatdiggaz, two media experts in Spanish Hip Hop. In 2022, we covered events for the Monsón Hip Hop label and the Colombian rappers Afterclass, No Rules Clan, and N. Hardem. From its inception, Border Mag has distinguished itself by creating content (reviews, interviews, articles, multimedia) always with a critical edge, but also with a sense of humor and respect for the reader. We also believe that music thrives on its vast musical heritage, which is why it's important to share it through social media with our #GetYourGrooveOn initiative. We use Facebook (Reviews, Articles, Stories, Reels), Instagram (Reviews, Lives, Articles, Reels, Stories), YouTube (Videos, Playlists), and Spotify (monthly and curated playlists) because these platforms have the highest user traffic. We provide multimedia that supports artists (official websites, purchase links, etc.). We want to keep culture alive, which is why we look to the future, but also to the past and the present.
