I have been a radio DJ for over 30 years, due to my lifelong passion for music. I hosted the long-running Shrunken Planet on WFMU, considered by many to be the greatest radio station on Earth, and without doubt the one with the widest and deepest playlists. Even on a station as ahead of the curve as FMU, I have often been the first to play artists, sometimes years ahead of other hosts. I have also made occasional recommendations to record labels about musicians I have discovered. I have been an artist my entire life, with most of my attention going towards my photography, which I began doing in college. My college degree is in graphic arts. I'm also a writer. I do really try to get to 100% of submissions, and if I haven't responded to yours, it's just a case of inattention on my part, so feel free to send again (if that's possible...if not, send something else). As my bio states, I have been a radio DJ for over 30 years, mostly at freeform WFMU, and have listened to every kind of music. Though nowadays I gravitate towards folk, ambient, and avant-garde, I have listened to every kind of music imaginable. What I'm able to do, when choosing music to play on air, is to separate that which stands out (for any number of reasons) from music which, while it may be good, doesn't offer enough to distinguish it from that of others. I have trained my ears by listening to countless pieces of music, as well as talking to musicians, some who have been on-air guests. My BFA is in graphic arts, so I can also give you feedback on the artwork for your releases.
