I am a DJ on a small community radio station in the Santa Cruz area of California, USA. I have been reviewing new music and adding it to our radio station playlist for approximately 3 years. Many of the bands I choose to play also independently end up on the NACC top 200 playlist, so I feel my music tastes are validated by the charts. I will listen to your song! If I feel it is a good fit for our station, I will add it into rotation with the next "batch" of songs I upload into our station for rotation. It will stay in rotation for about 10 days. Your song will stay in the same "batch" and get uploaded about every 7-8 weeks where it will stay in rotation for another 10 days. This cycle will continue for the foreseeable future. I need songs in MP3 format to play on our station. I am not able to play any songs that come in a .wav file format. If you don't have MP3 songs you can send me, please don't submit to me. MP3 songs only. Also, the MP3 songs need to have the ID3 tag information attached (song title and artist minimum). MP3 songs submitted without an ID3 tag information might not get played (sometime I do add the missing ID3 tag info if I really like the song and think it is worthy of playing). Our station software needs ID3 tags to display the artist name and song title on our web player. Once again, MP3 files only please. NO .WAV FILES. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide any FEEDBACK on your song. This bears repeating... I will not be able to provide ANY feedback for your song including why it was not chosen for our station. I choose songs by my "gut feelings". Then, from these songs, I choose the ones that would match our style of music and ones I feel our listening audience would like. Genres we can't accept at this time.... Electronic and Dance, Pop, Punk, Country, Rap and Hip-hop. If you submit these genres, please be aware that there is a very good chance you won't get put in rotation. Genres we are looking for... Americana, Folk, Indie Rock, Rock, Alternative Rock, Singer/Songwriter. Have a listen to us on kbcz.org to get a feel of what we play. All songs submitted here get added to our "feed". The "feed" is what plays whenever a live DJ is not in the booth.
