Bio

As a journalist, writer and cultural commentator I've contributed to platforms across several areas. I began my career as a contributor to the AfricanHipHopBlog before a stint at Digify Africa with Live Magazine. Content producer jobs at Red Bull Amaphiko and GQ Magazine South Africa followed, where my focus ranged from technology and social entrepreneurship to the fashion, lifestyle and culture sectors. These roles exposed me to both the opportunities and challenges young creatives face. Having been immersed in the music space since; I’ve shared my insights on contemporary African music via the BBC, WeSoko, Texx And The City, Red Bull Music, The Plug Magazine, OkayAfrica and DJBooth while currently copywriting, playlisting and ideating. Working in the digital space has led to me expanding my interest in how artists can create exciting avenues for expression.

Services
I believe my background in various spheres of music can help me contextualize the way artists should present their music. Having been swept up by the 'Afrobeats to the World' as a curator, journalist and playlister; I'm excited by how strong narratives and great art can work in tandem. I can help artists position themselves by establishing what stories they are telling, both within their actual music and in the space they occupy more figuratively.
