James Thornhill est un journaliste, spécialiste du marketing musical, DJ, promoteur et conservateur travaillant dans les Midlands, au Royaume-Uni. En 2020, il a lancé Proxy Music pour aider les artistes et les labels à se promouvoir plus efficacement en travaillant avec Wendy Rae Fowler, Julia-Sophie, No Type records, Subexotic records, Seas of Mirth, Cowgirl, Pet Crow, Yammerer et Castles In Space entre autres. En tant que journaliste, il est un contributeur régulier à Electronic Sound et a des signatures dans Notion, DrownedinSound, Line of Best Fit, Louder, Under The Radar et GodisinTheTV ainsi qu'un nouveau créneau musical mensuel sur BBC Radio Derby. En 2019, il écrit et édite le fanzine du 40e anniversaire pour Casio Instruments. Il a récemment lancé un nouveau festival de musique électronique pour Derby, au Royaume-Uni.
