Rocío Santos aka Roxyo Sounds is a music journalist, radio and podcast producer, host and selectress at Vocalo 91.1FM (Chicago Public Media), specializing in the alternative music scenes of Latin-America. With over ten years of radio experience, Rocío has hosted Domingos en Vocalo, the premier weekly Spanish-language program on arts and culture programming, interviewing international artists: Natalia Lafourcade, Mon Laferte, Carla Morrison, Tim Bernardes, iLe, Helado Negro, and many diverse up-and-coming and local musicians and creators. In the summer of 2023, Rocío celebrated her 10th year anniversary at Vocalo as guest DJ for the Millennium Park Summer Music Series where she spotlighted her vinyl collection of women-fronted acts from Latin-America, which you may also follow in her monthly podcast Músicas al frente— an initiative to document and recognize new music releases by Latinx women musicians.
