Bio

Imaginary North is a Toronto based ambient label created in 2022. Our focus is ambitious, high concept, and gorgeous instrumental music that works as effectively as background music as it does for active engagement. Releasing several compilations of cosmic and beautiful ambient music over the year, with new and established artists on each one. We continue to seek artists who have put together ambient tracks that have not yet been released for consideration for our compilations. Through Groover, we are only able to accept tracks that have not been released on any public platform or streaming service. We would be happy to provide feedback on any track that has already been released, but will not be adding it to our playlists. Please keep in mind that we are a label focused on ambient music, and will not be able to give as much or as effective feedback on music genres that are not close to ambient. Despite being very clear about our genre preferences, we seem to get lots of music that is very far from ambient. If you send us: vocal music, pop music, rap music, solo piano, classical, rock, metal, or anything that is far from what we are seeking, you will not get much of a review from us, as it is a waste of your and my time.

As a label, we are currently accepting unreleased single tracks for a variety of compilations, and may consider releasing EPs or albums from new artists (in the realm of ambient/downtempo - we are not interested in vocal music, pop/rock/rap music, solo piano, neoclassical, house/techno, etc.).
