My "Winds of the island" playlist is focused on featuring tracks which are written with pop sensibilities and are often wondrous in nature. Tracks which are explicit or overly sonically aggressive often do not fit the vibe of the playlist. Songs which feature acoustic instruments and string arrangements, drawing from the past while still feeling "new," are often a good fit. This does not mean that no alternative or electronic songs can work on the playlist — things just need to feel more organic than computerized. The playlist currently has about 800 monthly listeners, highly engaged, and is growing quickly! Position of the added track depends on my feelings about it and the flow of the playlist, but I try to keep things above spot 20 for impact. Tracks will be in for 1 month in most cases.
