Tropical Punk Records: An independent Colombian record label with over 20 years of history The music business requires many factors to achieve success. Two of the most important are the ability to perform and compose. While these are fundamental, independent artists must also focus on other aspects like branding, marketing, fan development, and digital marketing. Tropical Punk Records understands this reality. It's the evolution of the traditional record label, adapted to the current industry and focused on allowing independent artists to focus on performance and composition while receiving support and guidance for other activities. Founded in 2000 by Mauricio Gómez, Carolina Roatta, and Andrés Vargas with the release of the compilation Neo Travel Kit, Tropical Punk Records has a rich history in the Colombian music scene. Daniel Falquez joined the label in 2003, further strengthening its team. The label primarily focuses on punk, ska, and hardcore but is open to other genres. Its catalog features artists from all over the country, encompassing emerging and established bands. Tropical Punk Records provides its artists with a comprehensive range of services, including: - Music Production - Mastering - Graphic design - Digital distribution - Marketing and promotion - Fan development With over 20 years of activity, Tropical Punk Records boasts a legacy of supporting artists like LAPM, Octubre Negro, TomSawyer, ShiryMusic, Tour de Force, 69 Enfermos, Zona Cero, and LMP. It has released 14 physical albums and numerous compilations, featuring diverse voices from the Colombian underground scene. Furthermore, Tropical Punk Records has established itself as a leading force in promoting independent music through its dedication to showcasing artists, new releases, and the individuals and communities that support them. Beyond supporting artists through releases, Tropical Punk Records also plays an active role in promoting the underground scene through its podcast and show, Neo Travel Cast. This platform celebrates the scene by showcasing bands, people, and places that contribute to independent music. Neo Travel Cast features two distinct shows: El Poste: This weekly show highlights new punk, ska, and hardcore releases from Colombian artists, keeping listeners up-to-date with the latest sounds. Sábado Internacional: This show expands the focus, celebrating new releases from similar bands around the world, offering a broader perspective on the global underground scene. When submitting music to us, please keep in mind that "Sábado Internacional" and "El Poste" run weekly. We receive a lot of submissions from Groover and other sources so there might be a limit on the amount of songs we can approve for sharing. Since we focus on sharing bands from all over the World, we want to provide as many bands and artists the opportunity to participate. Please limit your submissions to 1 or 2 per year. Please take the time to listen to our playlists, the quality of the songs that we share, and the styles of punk, ska, and hardcore that we include so that you have an idea of what we normally share. We can also help you distribute music with a focus on punk, ska, and hardcore playlists, audience, and digital support.
