The idea that gave birth to recordJet is as simple as it is revolutionary: the democratisation of the music industry. Every artist should have easy and fair access to the same tools as labels and majors, without losing their rights and without having to be tied to a partner for a long time. Complete freedom hand in hand with full support – that was the vision that created recordJet and that we follow to this day. How did this idea come about? More for personal reasons than entrepreneurial ones. Jorin Zschiesche wanted to found a company, but moreover, wanted to make his beloved music and its industry a better and fairer place and to give all artists the same chances of success. From 2008 to 2010, the focus was on developing the service and signing contracts with our first few shops and partners. In 2010, the platform went from beta to live – finally! recordJet also founded its own label to enable artists to get label income from neighbouring rights and introduced a special label rate. In the same year, we started offering physical distribution, detailed trends and free charts registration. At recordJet, we understand the value of music. There's a lot of work, passion, and often a lot of money behind an album or single – both before and after a release. We want to support this very personal investment with a personal service that goes far beyond industry standards. We call it the recordJet First Class. We pitch your releases to curators of all relevant platforms, aiming to achieve exclusive playlist placements in editorials, especially in GSA (if the stores like them and they are submitted on time). We guarantee the highest priority through years of experience, excellent direct contacts, and the exclusivity of the First Class. Once you as an artist reach a certain level of relevance, it's possible to propose your album or EP for store campaigns (e.g. homepage takeovers). With confirmation from the stores, we can obtain banners, audio ads, or cover placements for your release. We regularly receive requests from publishers or companies worldwide looking for new music and artists. This can lead to sync opportunities, live shows, or even brand partnerships. Here, we preferentially recommend our suitable First Class passengers. If you get many creations using your PGC sound (sound delivered by the distributor), we can pitch your snippet for TikTok sound banners among others. Additionally, you will receive information about current promotions, hashtags, trends, and playlist takeovers.
