I'm the curator for Midwest Emo Classics, a collection of some of the greatest and most timeless midwest emo tracks. Midwest emo is that raw, vulnerable intersection where emo meets indie rock and math rock, this subgenre emerged in the American Midwest back in the 1990s. It’s the sound of late-night introspection, melodic guitar riffs that shimmer and loop endlessly, and lyrics that feel like fragments ripped straight from a personal journal. It's emo aesthetic, but with it's own flair. These days, the term “midwest” has more to do with the feel than geography now. it describes a whole emotional landscape I'm looking for high quality tracks to add to my playlist. If you have songs that capture the right vibe, send them my way and I’ll check them out. This playlist has a strong following and is among the top Midwest Emo playlists out there.
