"The people from the island of Nauru, in the Central Pacific Ocean, tell of a spider-shaped divinity called Nereau that at the beginning of creation, wandering in the void, got trapped inside a giant clam. Freed himself, Nereau created the skies from the top half of the clam and the earth from the bottom half. With what was left, he created Life.
