Bio
Originally from Milan, Italy, Black Pomade now calls New York home after 8 years in Lisbon. He's a DJ, producer, and curator with a reputation for blending House, Disco, and Acid sounds into high-energy, dancefloor-driven sets. As the founder of the Ruínas collective and the Whoopee party series, he’s established himself as a tastemaker who knows how to create a buzz, earning residencies at iconic venues like MusicBox Lisbon. This residency allowed him to bridge the gap between the Italian and Portuguese music scenes from 2021 to 2023, cementing his influence in both territories.
Drawing heavy inspiration from the NY Disco and Chicago House pioneers, Black Pomade’s sets are a vibrant mix of analog synths, groovy basslines, and syncopated beats. His playlists and edits are sought after by those with a keen ear for quality, providing a steady flow of tracks that keep his followers engaged and craving more. As a DJ, he’s graced stages across Europe and Asia, including Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, and Vienna, sharing the bill with luminaries like Hunee, Kamma&Masalo, Josey Rebelle, and Nicky Siano.
On the A&R front, Black Pomade isn't just spinning tracks—he’s actively shaping the scene by running his own vinyl-only edit series, Manzo Edits, and managing releases on Whoopee Rec and Ruínas, showcasing his dedication to pushing fresh, underground sounds.
His production work has found homes on labels like Last Forever Records, Rollover Milano Anything Goes, and Windmill Re-Edits. Notably, one of his tracks was recently featured in the Apple TV show "Platonic," while his remix work and podcast appearances (SlothBoogie, Discoteca, Histoires de Piscines) have further solidified his status as a key figure in the contemporary dance music scene.
