SoundofSpitfire

Radio station

  • High sharing rate

Spitfire Radio originally served Southampton, Christchurch and The New Forest. In December 2017 the station closed. In January 2018 the station ownership was transferred and relocated to Spalding, South Lincolnshire. Officially relaunched as Sound of Spitfire on 2 April 2018, we ceased broadcasting on 31 January 2019 to enable changes to our format and a new technical platform to be installed. After a staged return through March to May 2019 we completely changed format in June 2019 and we are currently broadcasting 7am to midnight and will continue to do so. Our range of programmes will aim to entertain and inform. With local and national contributors providing a diverse mix of music, we ensure that there is something of interest to everyone. Although based in the South Holland area of Lincolnshire there is plenty of content that listeners from farther afield will enjoy. We’re excited to bring a mix of broadcasters from across the UK that each provide their own unique style. You can listen 17hrs a day now via Amazon Echo & Dot (Enable & Play “Sound of Spitfire”), Radio.net (search “sound of spitfire”) and our website (www.soundofspitfire.co.uk). Also, follow us on Twitter @soundofspitfire for the latest live news and information about programmes and schedules.
