Bio and how they support artists
Natali Pereira or KNID is a curator, cultural producer, DJ, director at Function FM (functionfm.com) web radio station and CAIXA ALTA (caixaalta.org), an association of sound system collectives. Currently based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, I run projects that experiment with sound as a whole, investigating edited and authentic productions from emerging Brazilian and international independent artists across soul, funk, R&B, hip-hop, reggae and its sides as well experimental projects.
I am looking for a fresh different track in term of production/message or performance. I try to capture the vibe of underground and more up-to-date dancefloors, with a dose of authenticity & cultural influence. I curate my work at collaborations with web radios as well as events & festivals that put the spotlight on artists who make noise in spaces and creating new trends.
My ears are always open to be able to invite emerging artists my a bit more alternative stage or playlist.
Artists whose music receive my feedback will have the opportunity to:
1. Features on Function FM: Tracks can be added to curated playlists or sets on Function FM.
2. Live Performances and Events: Some artists may be invited to do a performance in curated for which I am a curator/organizer and, that will bring them in front of a dedicated audience.
3. Collaboration for Growth: I match artists with a network of other curators, DJS and cultural producers, creating more opportunities for collaboration and professional development as well.
4. Supporting the Underground/Alternative Scene: Through playing their music at underground/alternative venues helps artists generate what in my head are niche, yet influential cultural spaces.
My aim is to make the presence of great independent creators more obvious by inviting them into interesting and novel environments.
