I have been a music curator since 2000 and a blogger since 2003. I became a DJ in 2016, starting with music from the 1960s, until in 2017 I truly began to live the dream of sharing 21st-century and mainly new music with the world. I have spent 25 years documenting music and making it known globally. I started with VHS tapes and for the last few years, I've been using my social media channels. As a DJ, I have managed to stand out as a main reference point for indie music in Peru, achieving the role of opening DJ for Foster The People. Furthermore, I am currently a reference for the 2000s scene as well, since I have an Instagram account with over 50K followers where all the content is oriented toward music from 2000 to 2010. I usually mix new music proposals, primarily independent ones. One of my goals is for people to discover music in the clubs and parties where I regularly play. I own several thematic party formats. I share the songs I've liked most during the week weekly. Only the new stuff, only what I truly consider worth sharing with my followers. The songs I've liked the most go into a Reel I publish every Sunday night. It's my Weekly Ranking of indie music, and I've been doing it continuously for over 2 years. I also add my favorite songs to a large playlist that compiles the best of the year. Additionally, every year I create an Annual Ranking with the 200 best songs of the year in the indie/alternative scene and upload this compendium to my YouTube channel. I have achieved significant social media impact in the 2020s, first with my Facebook page called Allnighter Entertainment (over 400 thousand followers), where I achieved many viral hits, and now with my personal DJ account on Instagram and TikTok. Per week, I explore about 100 to 150 songs, but I only keep 10 and publish them in my Weekly Ranking as a TOP 10. The songs I include in my playlists stay there forever, classified by year. I am generally open to many new sounds, but among those most featured in my recommendations and personal taste are: Post-punk revival, Indie Rock, Indie Dance, Electroclash, Synth-pop, Dream pop, Art Punk, Indie Punk, Darkwave, Minimal Synth, among other similar styles. I do not like what is currently called "urban music" or artists who make indie/alternative music trying to imitate urban music to gain traction. The good stuff is distinguished by being authentic, and the more one chases attention by trying to reach the masses, the less it appeals to my personal taste.
