Prima Classic is an independent record label founded by Latvian soprano Marina Rebeka and Argentine sound engineer Edgardo Vertanessian, operating from Europe and the United States. We're on Groover with our Label (looking for artists to sign) and our playlist Calming Classical for Kids (looking for tracks to add to our playlist). The label was established in March 2018. With a vision that goes beyond today’s market, Prima Classic is committed to creating a heritage of recordings that preserve the finest voices and interpretations of our time. Prima Classic stands at the intersection of artistry and technical excellence. Our label was born from a desire to highlight the talents of many known and unknown exceptional artists, capturing their art with total control over repertoire, performance, production, and presentation. Our moto is “artist-first!”, which means each recording is shaped to the unique artistic vision, acoustical, and expressive qualities of the performer. We believe in producing recordings of lasting value, made with care, attention and creativity. We are proud to collaborate, to date, with 25 soloist singers, 9 Orchestras, 11 conductors, 5 composers and 46 solo instrumentalists. Prima Classic’s catalogue is deliberately eclectic, covering opera, lyrical singing, and instrumental music, spanning from the Renaissance to contemporary music—from sacred works to world-music, baroque, bel canto, Romantic, and modern compositions. We are proud of the many achievements of the artists who colaborate with us. Technical Excellence & Innovative Sound From the moment of inception, Prima Classic has embraced cuttingedge recording techniques, focusing on creating immersive, hyperreal listening experiences. In 2020, the label pioneered Marina Rebeka solo album “Spirito” in BUBBLE, a 23.1channel spatial audio format developed in collaboration with LAcoustics, designed to recreate the emotional and dramatic intensity of live performance. Under the guidance of Vertanessian, every stage—from the microphone choices and their placement, to final mastering—is tailored for maximum clarity and fidelity, ensuring that each instrument and voice is rendered with nuance and presence.
