Scarlett O’Malley is a DJ, producer and presenter hailing from West London, who’s love for music, subculture and broadcasting has shaped her career as an international DJ, a music maker and a documentary producer. Over the last year she has had 5 releases: she debuted with a two track EP on her own label, Club Cowgirl, titled ‘Scorpio Rodeo', a single on the Semi-Delicious label, a second EP on Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory label entitled ‘The House Joints’ EP and ‘Cool Down Cowboy’ on Club Cowgirl in January of 2024. In October 2024 she released her most championed EP to date, ‘Clean Up Cowgirl’, played in clubs across the world and given radio play from the underground to the BBC. Her label has received big support in the club and on the radio alike, with radio coverage from the likes of Sarah Story, Danny Howard, Kilimanjaro and Jaguar. Her label and club night Club Cowgirl has had takeovers at various festivals including Lost Village, Glastonbury, Risen, Queen’s Yard Summer Party, and We Out Here. Club Cowgirl is also a platform for championing the working class in the music and audio industries, having hosted Club Cowgirl Chats at the Museum of Youth Culture delving into the subject matter. Scarlett’s music collection is rooted in soul but reaches deep into house, minimal, tech house, Latin sounds and beyond. This is reflected in her Rinse shows under the Club Cowgirl umbrella. Her live DJ sets are known for being wide-ranging that explore left field percussive sounds, bouncing melodies and groovy basslines. Her sound has taken her to clubs like Fabric, Pikes Ibiza, Nitsa in Barcelona and Video Club in Bogota, as well as being a resident of The Cause in 2021. She has lso played at her favourite festivals such as Glastonbury, Lost Village, Gottwood, Worldwide, All Points East and more. Scarlett was named one of the Christmas cover presenters on BBCRadio1 this Christmas and covered for Danny Howard on his Friday night show, interviewing Eliza Rose and Sally C for the show. She has also produced and presented her own BBC Radio 4 doc ‘Being Jackie Wilson’, is a regular on NTS, has had mixes and takeovers on 6Music including for International Women’s Day, and has worked with brands like Fred Perry and Doc Martens on various different campaigns.
