Raul Cachay A.

Social Media Influencer

My name is Raul Cachay A. I have over 30 years of experience in cultural and music journalism. My articles, interviews, and reviews have been featured in publications across Peru, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, the United States, and Colombia. Since 2023, I have also served as the host of a segment dedicated to audiovisual media on TV Perú's program, "Presencia Cultural". I am a proud member of the Ibero-American Network of Music Journalists (Red de Periodistas Musicales de Iberoamérica, REDPEM), contributing to collective volumes such as Sabor peruano (2021) and Cumbia Somos (2023), edited by the University of Guadalajara. I am the co-author of "Puedes Ser Tú: El Rock Peruano en 50 Discos Esenciales" (It Can Be You: Peruvian Rock in 50 Essential Albums), which won the prestigious 2025 Luces award from El Comercio newspaper for the Best Non-Fiction Book of the Year in Peru. My social media channels (IG, TikTok, X, and YouTube) are almost entirely dedicated to music and the discovery of new and established artists. While I embrace all genres, my core preferences lie in rock, pop, hip hop, jazz, MPB, and tropical music (with a special focus on salsa, cumbia, and their numerous fusions and mutations).
