Phil Circle is an award-winning singer-songwriter, author and music coach, with schools in Chicago and Los Angeles. With origins in Chicago, he's developed a musical style that seamlessly reaches across boundaries, after a lifetime surrounded by everything from blues to classical, jazz to house, alt rock to Americana. Now a resident of Los Angeles, his award-winning coaching method benefits beginners and professionals alike, as he continues to explore the modern age of digital music and expression with an ever-evolving beginner's mind. Considered by many pros in both his hometown Chicago and his new home L.A. to be the songwriter's songwriter and musician's musician, Phil Circle dedicates himself to serving aspiring and working musical artists in whatever way he can. Founded in 1994, his record label, Guilt By Association Records, takes no money from artists, instead serving as a coaching platform and resource for new artists to develop their careers as independent artists. Phil's book, titled "The Outback Musician's Survival Guide," won a readers' choice award after its 2017 publication. It tells his story with an eye toward giving every reader a sense of the life an independent artist. Critics loved its "grit and realism" and saw it as a lesson in life, whether you're a musician or not. With more than 30 years working as an independent musical artist and nearly as long coaching other musicians, I am absolutely dedicated to being of service to the music community, wherever it exists. I have used my methods in theory, skill sets, and mindset, to benefit countless fellow artists over the years. I've helped songwriters break writer's block; inspired hobbyists to become professionals; coached people through the recording and release process; and I'm always helping people find access to their unique creative voice. When you stop imitating others, you start to flourish.
