Hi :) This is Mari, I'm a musician, music teacher, and content creator about music and music education for Instagram and TikTok.
Listening to music is a passion that has been with me for as long as I can remember. And, being the good nerd ...that I am, the thing I value most from these years studying music (whether alone, in the groups I played in, or in music school) was developing more and more the ability to understand the details of each of my favorite songs that make them so special, so inventive, and so creative. Sometimes it has to do with the rhythm, sometimes with the chords, sometimes with the melody, sometimes with the lyrics, sometimes with the arrangement, and very often it has to do with a mixture of all these things. That's the magic of it.
I joined Groover to offer personalized (and possibly very detailed because, as you can see, I'm not one to mince words) analyses and comments to individuals/groups/bands who want external feedback on their compositions!
For those that stand out the most, I also offer sharing on my social media (+177k followers) in one of two formats:
1) a carousel post (on Instagram) stating the song's name, who composed it, and highlighting some of the most impactful elements of the composition and/or arrangement;
2) for those that resonate strongly with me, I will make a video playing, commenting on, and/or analyzing the song (Reels/TikTok format) to show which elements I found most creative and explain why they gave that special touch to the song.
My focus is on Brazilian popular music. In this case, "song" means music with lyrics (meaning: I also receive instrumentals, but my area of expertise is the world of songs!). Regarding the audience that follows me on social media, we really like good grooves and songs that think outside the box (whether in rhythm, melody, harmony, or lyrics), so those are the compositions I tend to share!
I absolutely do not accept music made by AI! I'm not even getting into the discussion about whether or not the use of AI is art, because it's longer than the space I have to write this bio. I'm just saying that I work with the 100% human mental processes that take a song from the original idea to the recording and production, and I genuinely have no opinion when it's a computer that does those processes!
Furthermore, thank you in advance for trusting me to give my two cents on your song, and I'm very excited to discover new sounds :)
