ArpKord Records Founded in late 2016 by Belgian electronic music producer and DJ Tom Hagen (aka Fabrice Wilkin), ArpKord Records emerged as a new independent imprint dedicated to the wider spectrum of electronic music. Prior to launching ArpKord, Hagen had already gained significant experience in label creation and management with his previous imprint, BlackWallRecord, and from that foundation he decided to take a new direction. The name “ArpKord” itself is a nod to the world of electronic sound – an invitation to explore another side of mood and music, where conventional and unconventional electronic textures merge. Located in Belgium, ArpKord Records focuses on techno, minimal, tech-house and various underground electronic styles. Its catalogue features both digital releases and vinyl editions, making it a label for DJs, producers and collectors alike. For example, a release such as “Weather Patterns” by Philippe Petit (AKR2022A) was pressed as vinyl only. From the outset ArpKord has embraced international collaborations: while rooted in Belgium, the label works with artists from across Europe (and beyond) in order to build a varied and global roster. In this way, ArpKord aims to be not only a platform for its own local productions but also a stepping-stone for artists from diverse musical backgrounds and geographies. ArpKord also maintains close links with specialist music stores and distributors — for instance in Belgium and Germany — and supports both physical vinyl culture and digital distribution. Our Strengths Being a Belgian label gives us a genuine authenticity within the European electronic underground scene — we are not mainstream, which appeals to fans of raw, uncompromising techno. Our diverse catalogue, featuring both local and international artists, offers a wide range of sounds while remaining firmly rooted in a strong techno identity. The label takes its work seriously, with physical (vinyl) releases, which is a real plus in this genre of music. We also collaborate with various shops and specialized platforms through partnerships and distribution deals. Conclusion If you love techno — especially minimal or peak time / driving techno — this is definitely a label to follow. If you are a producer or DJ looking to release an EP in this style, ArpKord could be an excellent option, even a springboard for your career. And finally, a unique touch: some of our releases are “Only Physical”, available exclusively on vinyl.
